I’m not going to lie to you. It was bleak on Saturday morning as hurricane Earl blew through Halifax. I met up with Lyndsey and the girls at 11am and I looked like I had just come out of the harbor.
I sat down to talk to Lyndsey and we talked about the weather for about 10 minutes and then that was it. The rain stopped, the clouds flew by and 8 minutes before the ceremony Ryan made the monumental call of moving the ceremony back outside where it was supposed to be. Well, I can’t begin to tell you how incredible it was to watch Penny and the Prince George crew move everything in mere minutes. While it may not seem like a big deal it totally set the tone for the rest of the day. It was like the last minutes of game seven in the stanley cup finals of wedding photography and at the last minute the groom scores. big time. Great call Ryan!
From there all I could do to keep up with the level of awesome was grab 2 lenses and hop in the limo.
I want to make a case for up lighting at a wedding reception.
It doesn’t get better than this. I think they’re about $25-$30 each and so far I’ve seen a few weddings with no more than 5 or 6 around a room. As a side note please don’t mistake this for decorating advice. I know who the experts are and Im not one of them…however, I can tell you that a few up lights around the room in pretty much any reception will have strangers lining up behind velvet ropes to crash your wedding.
I know you can rent them from Jeff at Atlantic Pro Audio and I think Scott has them at True North DJ
WOW…that’s all I can say. Well actually it’s not. Liam you made our day that much better. I’m sorry you had to get so soaked in the process but you were an absolute blast! Your work is incredible and Ryan and I are both so happy that you captured our wedding day, hurricane or not! We wouldn’t have changed a thing. Thanks so much for sharing in our special day and making it so much fun 🙂
♥ Lyndsey and Ryan!
LOVE your bride-feeling-for the rain shot– awesome!! And the superman shirt with the bride’s reaction, priceless!
Liam, the fourth shot down of her is breathtaking. All of them are great but especially love the one of the groomsman in the limo shaking off the rain and her reaction to the superman shirt. Great work as always!
these are really amazing photos. i love the brides’ expression in many of the shots.
Amazing photo’s Liam! I cannot wait to see more..your words at the top of these photo’s really says it all and you managed to capture all that magic on camera plus we hardly knew you were there! Fantastic work 🙂
