its a funny story how I met Jackie Casey. Its just one of those ‘isn’t it a small world’ kind of stories. I liked her the minute we shook hands…she had moxy.
so needless to say I was sad to hear that her parents had lost their home in the fire out in Purcells Cove several months ago. I emailed Jackie to offer to do some family photos for them anytime they wanted…simply an attempt to help them rebuild and create new memories.
well, Jackie had bigger and better plans.
a few days later i was out at the property where the house once stood. Jackie wanted to do a little photo documentation of the property. that was all the direction she gave me…the rest was up to me. I had to then find a way to capture everything that had happened…both the physical damage and destruction as well as the new life that was already popping up all over the property.
its hard to put in to words…and perhaps thats why i’m a photographer and not a writer. the end result was a 70 page album with the underlying idea that everywhere there was destruction…there was also new life.
thanks Jackie, for letting me capture this. it was a really special project and I really loved putting it together for you. I hope it helps w the rebuilding process.

Fantastic…
That entry gave me goosebumps! Great work Liam.
Jackie- I hope you and your parents are doing well. xoxo
I totally want to see all the album spreads now!!! Loving this project & wish we all could do more of these.
I wish I had a book for everyone to see. The passion and beauty brought to life from something so tragic is absolutely amazing. There are not enough kinds words I can send your way Liam, for your generosity & big heart. I believe good things will continue to happen to you. Your passion for photography deserve big returns. You are one of a kind!
Many, Many Thanks on behalf of all my family!
Jackie
