It was 4am and there were about 12 people still standing, Steph + I happened to be two of them. There was whiskey, there was rain, there was Adam fucking Baldwin, the Stanfields, the Mellotones and the Mellotones with Jessie Brown + Sasha (now DeSouza). It was like nothing you’ll ever find on Pinterest. It was perfect.
Guitars were strumming, joints were burning, and candles were glowing. Now, at the risk of completely fucking up this story…I THINK Trevor picked up the guitar and the song he started to play was the song that Sasha + Trevor first…danced to? Maybe sang to? Like I said, it was 4am so most of what I recall was captured on video + photography…but this song had some serious history behind it.
Steph + I were only shooting still photography but this sound bite had potential, so I recorded it and we stashed it away for a little while, knowing it would be useful for something.
So this is it. This is one of my favourite slideshows. Raw + real moments (I think there are only 2 posed photos in this whole thing) set to raw and real music, replete with imperfections that reinforce how true and real a wedding can be.
Sasha + Trevor, I wish we hung out as often as we try to hang out but you know we love ya so much we’d get matching tattoos with you any day!
I see you’re still brilliant. That’s a wedding I would have loved to have been at, and your fabulous work makes me feel like I almost was. Well done Liam, hope you’re good!
