Stacey + Brad (and Lyla) had their wedding a few weeks ago at the Compass Room at Casino Nova Scotia and it had all the ingredients that make for a spectacular wedding to shoot. My buddy Scott from True North was the DJ, Patricia Pardy from Its Your Event was doing the decor and planning […]
This is what Meaghan thinks of the 1st period. This is what Rick thinks about Vancouver.
I stopped in to visit Christa at Felicity Bridal about a year ago and she had a client and her mom in trying on dresses. This client came out to look in the mirror and I could not help but comment on the dress and how incredible it looked. Normally I sit quietly and flip […]
Nowhere in my business plan does it state that I want to be the wedding photographer for everyone. Sometimes I think about it all the time and sometimes I don’t think about it at all…but I had a conversation with a couple a few weeks ago and they had decided to go with another photographer […]
Here’s a b side from a shoot Steph and I did for Gio a few weeks ago and this was something we tried along the way to the final image. The final version… The Gio page on facebook has a chance to win dinner for 6 hosted by Vince and if someone wins it I […]
I’m sure everyone gets dressed up a little for photo shoots but putting on your wedding dress and and your wedding suit is about as dressed up as you can get. Fearless bridal, trash the dress, rock the dress…call it whatever you want, it’s one of my favourite things to shoot.
The last time we shot with Robert + Magda it was freezing. Cold bitter winds brought tears to our eyes and I swore we’d shoot again under warm sunny skies. So we waited 3 months for sun and decided on settling for warmth alone. I’m looking forward to this wedding for three reasons. 1. there […]
Kate’s friend had contacted me about a gift certificate for her to do a boudoir collection. A few months passed and I got an email from Kate asking if we could do a maternity shoot instead. Congrats to you both. Good luck in Ottawa!
I sometimes post so much and sometimes post so little. We try so many absurd ideas that some of them will never see the light of day…and then I thought some of them might make for some good b-side photography. Like Lost Dogs, sometimes the stuff that never makes it can be some of your […]
I’ve shot weddings in hurricanes and I’ve shot weddings on interesting dates like 10.10.10. I’ve shot weddings in the snow and I’ve shot em in the rain but I’ve NEVER shot a wedding on a day the world was supposed to end…until last Saturday. Angie + Ryan live in Hong Kong so I hadn’t had […]
This was supposed to be a sunset shoot lit with the warm setting sun over Halifax harbour. Needless to say we went with plan B when the cloud rolled in in the late afternoon and the cold winds picked up, well, you know, typical Halifax spring weather. Dawn + Jon are going to have an […]
When we met Jana + Jeremy about their wedding a few months ago Jeremy told us he was a bit of a pyro and could get access to fireworks. I know there are boxes and boxes of fireworks set aside for the wedding so we had to do some testing shooting with them.
Hoops (as we now affectionately call her) said she wanted to do a boudoir shoot or something like it. We had some rooftop access over looking all of Halifax and the rain held off just long enough to get outside and shoot for 10 minutes.
A few from Tom + Nicolle’s wedding on Saturday nite at the Carleton in Halifax.

When the weddings slow down and my mind wanders, this is where it goes.
