when you’re a photographer the next best thing to shooting is being a second shooter…or third even. its pretty much like getting to go to work and do whatever the hell ya want all day. sure, you gotta hold a light every now and then but thats not so bad. the tradeoff is you get to try new things when no one is looking, perhaps suggesting that “he should get in the trunk…” to the nice strangers you just met five minutes ago.
i was lucky enough to be a third shooter tonight w Jeff Babineau and Tyler Rogers for an engagement shoot in a junkyard.
i just did an interview talking about how i never use flash…well, tonight we had 5 flash, pocket wizards, stands and bodies to man them, a wall of junk cars and a burned out RV.

okay, the trunk shot KILLS. so very awes. also pretty partial to the rearview pic. who woulda thought engagement photos in a junkyard could be so pretty. love them.
