dark + sexy wedding photography at the Halifax Club

I met Fraser + Jen at the Brides 2010 wedding show last year and I fell for them. They told me they would call but weeks passed by and nothing. No email. No calls. I called Telus a few times just to make sure my cell phone was working just in case I had missed them trying to call me.

I shot a wedding at the Halifax Club many years ago and I will openly admit the lighting in that place got the better of me. It was dark and I was half tempted to just drop my camera and run. So when Fraser and Jen mentioned they were having a candle lit wedding there…I just wanted to go home and practice making photos in the dark.

The ceremony was incredible and a complete 180 from the rest of the summer where the sun was always shining. I met with new clients the other day and they told me my work looked like Batman’s wedding photography so as I was editing these ceremony shots I couldn’t help but laugh. It had all the class and sophistication of the old school Bruce Wayne mansion but without the violence and tight leather suits.
