I’ve shot weddings in hurricanes and I’ve shot weddings on interesting dates like 10.10.10. I’ve shot weddings in the snow and I’ve shot em in the rain but I’ve NEVER shot a wedding on a day the world was supposed to end…until last Saturday.
Angie + Ryan live in Hong Kong so I hadn’t had the opportunity to meet them prior to their wedding day and I also had no idea how to ask them if we could do an ‘end of the world shot’ at some point in the day. “Hi, I’m your wedding photographer, nice to meet you. Hey, how do you feel about 175 of your wedding guests playing dead during your reception?” Thats pretty much how it went.
Needless to say, and though it has been said by many a wedding photographer, I have the best clients in the world. At then end of the dinner, right on cue, 175 wedding participants flopped down on their tables and chairs and played dead while Steph and I shot like mad for about 7 seconds. 4 days later we had Angie + Ryan crammed in tiny little caves on the slippery edge of a rocky cliffs for a Fearless Bridal shoot.
I love wedding season. I love it.
