If you’re going to get married then this is the way to do it. Gather all your Cape Breton (New Waterford) and Polish friends and family, put them in a room at the Prince George and let Update Events take care of the decor. Open up the bar, crank the tunes and leave all your worries and stress behind.
I don’t even know where to begin to tell you how much fun this was. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. We were supposed to set up the crazy booth but I had a feeling the action was going to be on the dance floor so we left the white roll of paper behind and just tried to capture the celebration as it happened. Steph and I pulled out of there around 1.30am only because we had run out of memory cards and battery power.
Magda and Robert…thank you! Good luck in Montreal. I know there are more than a few people in Halifax counting the days until you return.
So this is sort of an afterthought as I didn’t want to sound to over the top…but it has to be said that I really, really love working with the people that helped pull all of this together. I showed up to the Prince George and Vicky Mina was there to do makeup for the girls. It’s become kind of its own thing now with Steph and I and our conversation usually goes something like this, “Ohh, its Vicky makeup, well she’s going to look incredible”. Penny MacKinnon took care of every little detail at the hotel. She always does and she’s constantly one step ahead of every possible outcome for everything. When the weather got worse she handed us the key to some huge, white suite I never knew existed and then sent up lobster snacks and beer while we shot w Robert and Magda. I’ve said it before, she makes things happen.
Avril Mulholland from Update Events did the design and decor based on Magda’s love of Pride and Prejudice. Like Vicky Makeup, Avril’s work has become known in Applehead world as ‘Avril Weddings’. For example, “We’re shooting at the Prince George this weekend and it’s an Avril Wedding.” I love her work because she doesn’t follow the latest styles, she introduces them.
I think Avril just said it best that sometimes this ‘work’ seems an awful lot like vacation.
Looks like an amazingly fun wedding! So many great shots showing everyones personality!
Magda + Berger you guys look awesome. Your wedding was incredible and so so much fun. I’d say it was the second best wedding of the year 🙂 Liam and Steph- fantastic as always!
I love the multiple versions of each scene. I have been telling some photographers for a while now, that if you want to show more of the story behind each wedding give the viewer more looks at parts of the wedding you feel is important. I feel like I was at this wedding and I don’t think I would have gotten the same feeling from just one image of the reception.Bravo great work brother.
LOVE IT ALL;) Magda and Robert you guys ROCK;) Had sooooo much fun, but I really need to stop making faces when I dance…lol Great job Liam.
Love it!!! My fav part, you ask?? Her shoes of course – LOL 😉
Fantastic images, especially the ones in the foggy street! It was great working with you.
Well, Vicky always says to herself when she sees Liam walk in the door with his camera, it’s an “Applehead” wedding!! The photos are gonna be amazing! You always outdo yourself. She truly is beautiful and the wedding was exquisite and looked like a blast. Kudos to Avril on the decor, I LOVE it!
