“Did you see Talia + Asher’s wedding video that Rich just posted?” Steph asked.
“Nope” was my swift reply, as my Fred Flintstone fingers fiercely fought to manipulate mini mounds of mouldable clay into the tiny word ‘MILK’. I was in Dad mode and nothing else mattered at the time. Lola to my left, Ruby to my right, each fully committed to their craft, the only fighting was Kenny Rogers or DJ Snake on the speakers.
Life with Girls. It was perfect.
By 8:30pm the house was silent and dark. I sat down to watch this video and by 8:32 I was living some re-enactment of a scene from a Bridget Jones movie. Alone in a dark room, drinking and teary eyed over a wedding video and drunk texting Ashley + Richard telling telling them how much I loved them and how awesome they are.
I can’t sit here and type any kind of words that will describe the joy we get shooting for ‘the Orr Girls’ but I can tell you that when Bri took to the podium at her sister’s wedding and started speaking, Oceanstone wept. There was not a dry eye in the place. The words, the feeling and the poise with which she spoke, “You are Everything to me,” will stay with me forever.
When I heard Ash+ Rich had decided to use this audio for the teaser, I couldn’t believe it. It all came back to me. Asher’s quivering chin, the post ceremony celebration, the rain, that dress, that light…and those people. All of them. Every single one of them.
“Wow, it’s late. Aren’t you guys leaving soon?” asked departing, well dressed guest.
“Nope” was my swift reply as my Fred Flintstone fingers fiercely fought to manipulate the magic and madness that made up the dance floor. I was in Photographer mode and nothing else mattered at the time. Asher to my left, Talia to my right, each fully committed to each other, the only fighting was for one more song on the speakers so the night would never end.
Life with the Orr Girls. It was perfect.
Crying. I had watched the video before but I hadn’t read this. Can’t wait to see you guys tonight!! So much love.
