We met on June 12, 2015 in Pittsburg, PA at Eva + Ryan’s wedding. They were that couple who you could just shoot at any point and get an incredible shot of the two of them, absolutely and ridiculously in love with each other. It was like an engagement shoot broke out at a wedding reception. Eva + Ryan threw one hell of a party and when the night ended (at 6am), we knew we wanted more of these people.
Fortunately for us, Aaron + Blair got engaged! They came to Halifax for an East Coast engagement shoot which meant Duncan’s Cove and donairs!
In April it was like a reunion for us. We jumped off the plane and onto a bus full of rowdy and beautiful people and passed the Jamieson around until it was gone…and that set the tone for the wedding for the next 36 hours at the Diplomat Golf & Tennis Club.
We worked with Jennifer and Beverly of Jennifer Keller Styled Events. I knew I liked these two right from the very beginning but they stole my heart when they told us two things, 1. Jennifer is quite possibly a bigger Pearl Jam fan than I am and 2. Steph + I were the first ever wedding vendors to be allowed to be served at the bar (thanks Blair!).
So we thought we’d try something a little different from the usual scroll of images. We found some beats (licensed beats) and mixed them into some photos. We worked on it for days trying to get the timing right and the slightest little screw up would drive us insane…so we enlisted the skills if MixMaster Matt Corkum and put this together in about 10 minutes for us.
I will admit we’ve most likely watched this more than Aaron + Blair and I grin like a maniac every time. Aaron + Blair, thank you! You make me say cliche things like “I can’t believe this is my job” and “this is without a doubt, the greatest fucking job in the world”. Thank you.
